Suddenly Diamonds Perfume Is A Lidl Gem

Suddenly Diamonds Eau de Parfum (€3.99 for 50ml): Correct me if I'm wrong but I think this is Lidl’s latest perfume. It’s certainly new to me and there’s very little information about it online so I'm guessing it’s just hit Irish shelves. Word on the web is that it’s a dupe for a well-known luxury fragrance. Lidl’s first perfume, Suddenly Madame Glamour, is a celebrated dupe for Chanel Coco Mademoiselle and was an instant hit when it was first released here. Suddenly Diamonds is reportedly a dupe for Boss Orange by Hugo Boss. I have no idea if this is true as I have yet to smell Boss Orange but I definitely plan to and will report back here when I do. The packaging is quite similar, both boxes are white with an orange and silver design, and when I researched Boss Orange’s description it certainly sounds like Suddenly Diamonds is an imitation.

I've been really enjoying wearing this the past few days; it’s a beautiful and unusual scent. At first I thought it was too sweet for me, it's distinctly fruity; however intriguingly, it’s also intense with a vanilla and woodsy base. It lasts about 4 to 5 hours and while the bottle is nothing to write home about, it fits snugly into a handbag. I've a feeling Suddenly Diamonds is going to be another sell-out fragrance for Lidl. It’s undoubtedly a winner in my eyes. I recommend checking out this perfume before it flies off the shelves. And if it’s indeed a dupe for Boss Orange you’ll be saving yourself approximately €60, Boss Orange 50ml is currently €64 in Boots.

Would you wear perfume from Lidl?

UPDATE:
I finally went into Boots to give Hugo Boss Boss Orange a good sniff. Not a thorough scientific analysis I must admit but my fully functioning nose confirmed that Lidl's Suddenly Diamonds is without a doubt a dupe for Boss Orange!

  2. This sounds lovely! I hear great things about Suddenly Madame Glamour too. But where do they come up with the terrible names?!

    2. ;) coz it comes from Germany, maybe for the country-settled management from "bellmira" in Wertheim (a little village in GER) those names sounded very international and exclusive.
In my Lidl you can get for 4,90 3 firstclass dupes: Chalou (blue box) is a perfect dupe from Davidsoff Cool Water, Suddenly "Madame Glamour" smells same as Chanel's Coco Mademoiselle and Suddenly Woman I smells better than the good old Chanel No 5, coz its a dupe from the new No 5 Eau Premiere. Some say the Diamons perfume is more a dupe from Gaultier maDame, but it's not that long lasting, 3 hours max, but the No5 dupe lasts the hole day, more than 8 hours and there is still a warm and very female scent on ur skin.

    3. Haha perhaps we were a little too quick to dismiss the names Clara! I looked up Jean Paul Gaultier Ma Dame & it also has notes of orange, I definitely plan to check it out.

  3. I've just discovered Suddenly Madame Glamour (Why the name???) and although it doesn't last very long, many friends have commented on how nice I smell! I'm now waiting for Suddenly Diamonds to hit the Lidl stores in UK (available from 6th Feb 2014).
I'm quite excited, if Madame Glamour is anything to go by, then Diamonds will be well worth the bargain price! At those cheap prices, I can afford to keep spraying it whenever I need it!

    1. The names are truly awful Cat but it's a small price to pay (a pun that was just begging to be used!) for smelling so good! I still adore Suddenly Diamonds, went back to Lidl to buy another bottle but it was completely sold out. My advice? Stock up!

  5. My girlfriend just bought this perfume from Lidl in Germany, after I smelled the X-bolt, the copy from Hugo Boss Bottled for guys,

And then I asked her to check the ones for girls out as I read about Lidl having good scents.

    2. Yes I would buy it if I used perfume, but I'm afraid it would interfere with mine aftershave balm.
